Why you should invest in a good pair of Trekking shoe

Trekking shoe to a trekker is what makeup is to the bride. These are essential gear for trekkers because inevitably they spend more time in their shoes than in a tent. This means choosing the right pair of trekking shoes can save a lot of future disasters, especially during winter treks. We are listing a few of the essential things that you should keep in mind while purchasing your shoes for trekking so that you are blissful experience does not turn into a blister breakout.

Hiking Shoes Size

It is mandatory to test the shoes for the right fit. Ideally, it is better to buy trek boots one size larger than your regular measure because most of the time you would have to be in multiple woolen socks especially on the cold treks

Goretex trekking shoe waterproof

Make sure your trekking boots are made up of industrial- accredited material. It should be completely waterproof and breathable fabric. Because no one likes wet feet, make sure that your trekking boots have added layers of raisin on the outer side. Shoes which are made from Goretex material are waterproof and breatheable. These shoes are more expensive than your regular trekking shoes though the Goretex shoes are worth investing as they will last for atleast two years.

Vibram soles good grip trekking shoe

Having said that sole is the soul of shoes, make sure your trekking boots provide ample stiffness to the boots and cushioning to your feet. It should be hard enough to absorb shock. The most commonly used material insoles is EVA or polyurethane. The flexible rubber soles shoes in lightweight material and low cut are excellent support for a one-day hiking trip. The lug patterns at the bottom of the shoes define the gripping ability while trekking in the mountains. This pattern eases walk providing no traction to the feet. The raised heel zone at the bottom of trekking shoes, known as heel brake reduces the chance of slipping during steep descents. Vibram branded soles are very popular among trekkers as these soles offer good grip on all types of surfaces. You can also buy specialised surface based shoes which offer more grip in snow, rocky terrain, wet surfaces etc.

Toe Protection

To ensure your protection during your hiking, wear hiking boots which are 1/2 a size large. Ensure wearing two pairs of socks. Make sure to re-tie your shoes periodically. Give your toenails the right cut so that they are straight. Good hiking shoes should have excellent arch support. The right sole keeps toe and feet in place. Make sure that you allow the feet to get some fresh air once in a while on your trekking spree.

Ankle Support

Getting your ankle sprained can cause a severe issue during trekking. Whether you are opting for low topped shoes or high topped hiking boots, make sure your ankle is stressed and trained as this leads to fewer ankle injuries. The high boot helps to limit the movement and keep the ankle straight yet it renders more torsion stress on the knees. It is tapping ankle while trekking limits the movement and prevents the ankle from rolling over. But this can be done via ankle support brace too that provides compression and prevent further inflammation. High-quality sole is required to provide more ankle support then the high topped shoes.

Good Comfort

Trekking shoes comfort is the first and foremost feature that needs consideration with the hiking boots. It is the type of footwear that takes you to the result of your trip. Hiking shoes and hiking boots are essential gear for providing extra support around the ankle. The stable sole, insulated and waterproof material, right fit enables with stand warm, dry and harsh conditions, ensuring the durability of shoes. Slip resistance lug designed bottom and breathability are the features that make the pair of hiking shoes perfect for experts and beginner level trekker.
