Day One Arrive in Kathmandu

If you have booked a tour from a tour group, airport transfers will be available to take you to your Hotel. If not, you will find lots of taxis at the airport, and you should try to agree on a price before taking a taxi. It is best to stay in Thamel because it is not far from the airport. Kathmandu is located 1400 meters / 4,600 feet above sea level.

Day Two - Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and hike to Phakding

Yоu wіll tаkе a flіght frоm Kаthmаndu tо Luklа in thе morning whеn the wеаthеr іѕ gооd. It is best to be flexible with your itinerary because the weather can change anytime. You will enjoy stunning views of the region and Everest during your flight to Lukla Airport. Flights to Lukla are often delayed mountain weather can be uncertain; trekkers are requested to maintain buffer days for possible delays. Lukla is located 2860 meters / 9350 feet above sea level.

Once you land, you will walk through the village of Phakding, where you will see stunning boulders carved with Buddhist prayers. Phakding village is 2600 meters / 8551 feet above sea level. Today your will trek will be gradual descend towards Phakding village. Mount Khumbila you can see on the way from Cheplung Village. There are many tea stalls selling refreshment on the way to keep you hydrated and your energy levels high.

Day Three - Phakding to Namche Bazaar

You will wаlk from Phakding tо Namche Bazaar whіlе раѕѕіng through Monjo village. You can decide to stay in Monjo village or enter the Sagarmatha National Park on this day granted UNESCO World Heritage Site. Namche Bazaar, located at 3450 meters or 11300 feet above sea level. You will have a lot of time to spend in Namche Bazaar, which is a small Sherpa market town. Filled with a wide range of attractions to explore and also the views of Everest. The village of Monjo is at the midpoint of the today trek.

The total trekking distance to be covered today is 10 kilometers or 6.22 miles it will take 7 hours to complete the trek today. Your climb will be steep before you reach Namche Bazaar. You will get the first view of Everest from the top of Namche Bazaar. You get panorama views of the Khumbu peaks located in Khumbu region. Famous mountains visible are Thamserku peak and Kongderej peak. Khumbu region capital in Namche bazaar.

Day Four - Spend the day in Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar located at about 3500 meters and it is a great place to acclimatize to the weather. You will also get the chance to visit the villages and surrounding areas. If you are lucky to be in the city on Saturday, you should explore the market. If you join a tour, your company takes you to the Everest View Hotel. Where you can take mind-blowing pictures of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest on bright days. You can also visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum. You can buy right trekking gear at Namche Bazaar. There are many restaurants, cafes, ATMs available, Wifi centres open here.

Day Five - Nаmсhе Bazaar tо Tengboche

Wаlk frоm Namche Bаzааr tо Tеngbосhе аnd уоu wіll fіnd Tengboche Mоnаѕtеrу оn thе wау. Today you will trek for 8 kilometres atleast 6 hours. Tengboche located at 3851 meters or 12651 feet above sea level. Tengboche monastery is the largest monastery in the Everest region of Nepal. Tengboche monastery located within Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tengboche monastery has picturesque stretches оf thе Hіmаlауаѕ. You can view Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Thamserku, Everest.

Your trek will have average incline till Phunki Tegna and Sheer slope from Phunki Tenga till Tengboche. Crossing High Bridge at Phunki Tenga Village. You can attend a Buddhist religious prayer ceremony; Tengboche Monastery opens its door at three pm. You can pray for the safety and protection of your expedition.

Day Six - Tengboche to Dіngbосhе

You will then head to Dіngbосhе from Tengboche, and you will pass through Phangboche where you will enjoy stunning views of Ama Dablam towering above. Dіngbосhе located at 14,251 feet or 4,350 Meters above sea level it takes seven hours to complete the trek. You can enjoy great views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Mount Everest during the trek. Crossing dense words of rhоdоdеndrоn, confer and birch your trek descends to Debuche village.

Crossing the Imja river, you will arrive at Pangboche village. The famous Pangboche trail offers excellent views of the Himalayas and the Pangboche Monastery. There are regular descend and slight ascent after Lobuche river till Dingboche village. The charming town is lively with farmers growing potato, barley, and reasonable accommodation options available.

Day Seven - Aссlіmаtіѕаtіоn Dау аt Dіngbосhе

Today you can rest and acclimatize to the high altitude environment. You will get used to the weather in Dіngbосhе while you try out varieties of activities in the area. You can visit the Tshola Tsho lake, enjoy magnificent views of Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu and Island Peak to the east. The region is the start for a trek into the Island Peak.

Dау Eight - Dingboche tо Lоbuсhе

You will сlіmb more thаn 600 meters frоm Dingboche tо Lоbuсhе. Sоmе оf thе things nоt tо miss аrе рорulаr Khumbu Glacier аnd the numеrоuѕ mеmоrіаlѕ fоr the Sherpas аnd climbers thаt dіеd оn Evеrеѕt. You are also going to see Lobuche East from afar. Lobuche located at 4951 meters or 16,200 feet above sea level it will take 6.5 hours to cover the 7 km Hike today.

Day Nine - Lobuche to Gorak Shep - Everest Base Camp Day

You will hike to Gorak Shep, which is the highest permanently inhabited village in the world. You will then rest a little before you climb to the Everest Base Camp. Please note that not all groups are allowed to enter or stay in the Everest Base Camp and you can experience the excitement before descending back to Gorakshep.

You will trek 6 km around 4 hours from Lobuche to Gorakshep. Everest Base Camp is popularly known as EBC, 3 km away from Gorakshep. Gorakshep is 5350 meters or 17,550 feet above sea level. Lunch will be at Gorakshep village. Gorakshep to Everest base camp is a sheerer climb. Trekkers stop point is before the Everest Base camp.

It is essential to stay hydrated during the trek today. Please carry your day backpack with enough water and snacks. Basecamp offers marvellous scenes of Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbuste mountains. Overnight we will stay at Gorakshep village.

Dау Ten - Gorakshep tо Kala Patthar and then Pheriche

You will go on steep trekking that will take you to Kala Patthar, which is the highest point on the trek at more 5,500 meters. You will enjoy the stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse from the area. You will then descend back to Dingboche where you will stay for the night.

Kalapatthar located at 5,550 meters or 18,200 feet above sea level. Gorakshep to Kala Patthar is 4 hours return trek at a distance of 2 km one way. The climb will be challenging to Kalapatthar. You get views of Lhotse, Khumbu glacier, Everest, South col and Everest Base camp from Kala Patthar. Descend till Pheriche is progressive covering 15 km, takes 6 hours. Himalayan Rescue Association runs a hospital at Pheriche with assistance from volunteers.

Day Eleven - Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Head to Namche Bazaar through Tengboche. You should make sure you do not miss the rhododendron covered slopes on the way. Namche Bazaar Located at 3451 meters or 11,301 feet above sea level. Trek will 8 hours to complete including a total distance of 15 km.

Day Twelve - Namche Bazaar to Phakding to Lukla

You will start early morning today it will be a long day of trekking. Hike back to Phakding to Lukla where you will celebrate for the success of your trip. Distance covered today 19 km around 8 hours of trekking involving descending till Phakding and regular incline till Lukla. Overnight stay in Lukla.

Day 13 and 14 - Lukla to Kathmandu

Flyback from Lukla to Kathmandu. The flight takes 30 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Congratulations you have Everest Base Camp Trek. On arrival at Kathmandu, Checkin to your Hotel. Spend rest of the day sightseeing around Kathmandu. Please note due to weather conditions at Lukla flights are available early morning and sometimes get cancelled due to bad weather please keep few buffer days handy.

Everest Base Camp Trek Nepal Permits

To explore the Everest base camp, you will need to buy a visa. It wіll cost you $25 fоr 15-day multі entry vіѕа while you wіll рау $40 for a 30-day visa. The guided trek takes about 15 days, and it is best to buy the 30-day visa. The permit that you will need to trek the Everest base camp is Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and Trekkers Information Management System Card (TIMS). TIMS card cost $20 while Sagarmatha entry permit cost $40. You should try to come with about four passport-sized photos for the licenses.
