About Kankrala Fort

Kankrala Fort is situated near to Galna fort in Malegaon taluka in Nasik. There is a small valley formed by the mountain of Kankrala. Before the valley, there is a cistern with pure spring water. The ramparts start right from here, now most of them broken down. There are many tanks found on the mountain top and some plinths are found. An idol of Lord Hanuman is found here. It takes half an hour to see the fort.

 

How to reach Kankrala Fort

We have to reach Malegaon from Nasik. Then we have to reach Karanjgavhaan village, which is around 30 km away from Malegaon towards Dongrale. Kankrala village is about 8 - 10 km from Karanjgavhaan. We also get jeeps from Malegaon to Kankrala village. From the village, the base of the fort is around 2 km. It takes half an hour to reach the valley from the base.
