The Saptashrungi temple marks the Hindu Pilgrimage, and It is situated in the Nanduri, Kalwan Taluka. The Saptashrunngi Gad has a beautiful Saptashrungi Devi temple. This temple between the rocks looks extremely beautiful and pious. The Saptashrungi mata is said to be the destroyer of demons.

This colossal statue is ten feet tall and has eighteen hands with various weapons. Saptashrungi Nashik located at a distance of 35 kilometers from the city, you can easily visit it from the Southside of the Nanduri village. You can also take a route from Vani Gaon, but you need to walk at least four kilometers to reach the top.

The difficulty level of the hike is medium. You do not need to be a very skilled hiker to carry out this hike. You do not need any special equipment for this hike. You can rent a car from Nashik, which is very readily available, and then go to Saptashrungi Vani. From Vani, you can go to the Nanduri village from where the actual trekking starts.

You can also share the vehicle as per your convenience. Buses also run from Nashik to Saptashrungi Vani and from Vani to Nanduri village. You can also travel by train up to Nashik Road.

 

Saptashrungi History

It doesn't have an account of any defeat or victory. However, Saptashrungi gad does have a historic religious background and gives a good option for climbing. It is renowned amongst the trekkers. The Goddess at Saptashrungi worshipped as Goddess of Vani. Vani is also the base village. In 1768 A. D, the steps were built to reach the temple. In 1710 A. D, the leader of Shahu Maharaj's army, Umabai Khanderao Dabhade, 472 steps were built. The Navratri is a Hindu festival which is celebrated with full zeal here. Lakhs of devotees worship the Goddess during the Navratri.

Best Time to Visit Saptashrungi Fort

The Saptashrungi Fort can be visited at any time of the year. The festival of Navratri is celebrated very well here. You can visit it at this time of the year to experience the festivities around. It is generally celebrated either in late September or early October.

Things to See Saptashrungi Gad

  • The entire Village has a pious atmosphere because of the holy shrine, and the local people worship the Goddess Saptashrungi. This temple in between the rocks looks very enchanting and elegant. The state of Goddess facing the east gives a peaceful vibe to the atmosphere.
  • Many forts surround it. The Rawla Fort, Jawla Fort, is in the east, Markandya Fort, in the front. The Dhodap Fort and Kanhergad fort are also present towards the east, The Achala Fort and Ahivant Fort are situated behind the Saptashrungi gad. Chaulher and Mohandari forts are towards the North.
  • Saint Parshuram's temple is situated at the top. You can always find devotees here. The greenery, forts, and beautiful view make it very pleasant. The rainy season gives rise to greenery all around, giving it a serene environment.
  • Moreover, it would help if you did not miss out on the South Side, which has the Surya Kund Lake. The Kalin Kund is also situated towards the South Side. The Shivalaya Tirth is close to Surya Kund, and Sheet Kada is on the east side. This trek will fill you with positivity and powers of the heavenly.
