The nearby village of Harihareshwar has a temple of Lord Shiva that is a popular and important spiritual place near Harihareshwar beach. Apart from that, Shrivardhan has a few temples like - Kusuma Devi Temple, Somjai Devi Mandir.

Best time to visit Shrivardhan

Best time for beach fun is the winter and summer vacation - that is November to May. The temperatures in winter are optimal at 15-degree Celsius to 31-degree Celsius. In summer Shrivardhan beach has intense heat. In monsoons, the village is beautiful with greenery and a few waterfalls. But the beach may be unsafe at times, due to unpredictable sea levels in the monsoon. During summer vacation you can enjoy the local fruits like Alphonso Mango, Jackfruits, Cashew nuts, Kokum and Coconut water. 

Distance from Mumbai and Pune to Shrivardhan

Pune to Shrivardhan Beach is a route of 157 km via Tamhini Ghat. The drive will take 5 hours or more depending on your speed through the Tamhini Ghat.

Mumbai to Shrivardhan Beach is a route of 177 km, and the drive will take 5-6 hours.

Shrivardhan Beach

The beach area is one of the well maintained in Maharashtra. It is accessible by wheelchair through a ramp. Many people visit the beach and it is still well maintained. Shrivardhan is a great place to spend quality time with your family or friends. You can also do camping at Shrivardhan beach.

Local Homestays

Staying in some local homestays is a beautiful experience. You will get to see the slow village life up close. Most of the homestays have fields of coconuts, and bananas attached. Watching the hosts go through their routine life is indeed fun and amusing.

Bankot Fort

Bankot Fort is a beautiful seaside fort near Shrivardhan Beach. It is on a small hill surrounded by many trees. The fort is in ruins, but the views are amazing. It is also called Himmatgad Fort or Fort Victoria.

Velas Beach

Velas is a small fishing village on the western coast of Maharashtra. About 220 km away from Mumbai, a little over a hundred houses on the coast of the Arabian Sea. In March-April you can see Olive Ridley turtles on Velas beach, known as Velas Kasav Mahotsav.

Harihareshwar Beach

Harihareshwar is a popular beach near Shrivardhan beach. Harihareshwar has a temple of Kalbhairav or Lord Shiva. The temple is located near the sea. Thousands of devotees visit the temple every day. A visit to the temple combined with beach fun is a good choice for a family outing at Harihareshwar.

Kondvil Beach

Almost half an hour away from Shrivardhan, his beach has a gently sloping shoreline, numerous trees and a few rocks. It is a calm and isolated beach.

Aaravi Beach

This is another less commercialized beach near Shrivardhan, just half an hour away from Shrivardhan. It is the best place to relax. It is not crowded even on weekends.

Peshwe Smarak

Peshwe Smarak is a detailed carved statue of Peshwa Balaji Bhat, the father of Peshwa Bajirao. Yes, Shrivardhan is the place where this glorious era of the Peshwas started.

Kusuma Devi Temple

You can experience peace and serenity at this temple. At the time of Navratri, the festivities around here are amazing.

Somjai Devi Mandir

This a spiritual place in Shrivardhan. The temple is said to have some positive vibes. The temple is very old and quite peaceful. There is a busy market near the temple. The significance of the temple is that many people come here to treat snake bites. You can do some shopping here.

Diveagar

Diveagar is a beautiful village near Shrivardhan. The beaches are beautiful, sands are pristine and the waters clear. It is the most beautiful beach in Maharashtra. In addition to the beaches, there are several homestays where you can stay and see the local lifestyle up close.

Distance from Mumbai and Pune to Diveagar

Mumbai to Diveagar Beach is a route of 192 km, and the drive will take 5-6 hours.

Pune to Diveagar Beach is a route of 170 km, and the drive will take 5-6 hours.

Diveagar – Suvarnaganesha Temple

Diveagar is famous for the temple of Lord Ganesha. The story goes that the farmers found this Golden idol of Lord Ganesha in their farm, buried inside the earth. They then bought it out and made a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
